We are pleased to announce the release of the second generation Prism, the portable thermal mass flow meter with extensive data-logging capabilities.
Innovative Award Winner
You may have heard, the new Prism is a 2015 Flow Control Innovation Awards winner. This is the fourth such award for Sage Metering in ten years. It demonstrates our creativity and commitment to meet our customers’ needs. We are very proud of our staff and all those involved in bringing the new Prism to market.
The second generation Prism is a substantial improvement over the first Prism meter introduced in 2011. The new Prism offers:
- Greater storage capacity (130,000 data points)
- Longer operating times when using the AC power
- A battery strength indicator
- Easy to use
- 16 independent channels of data
- Factory calibrated for either Air, Natural Gas or Biogas
A new, primary component included with each meter is the Sage Prism Configuration Software (SPCS). This intuitive software is easy to use and permits the user to configure up to 12 channels for different pipe size, units of measure, K factor and tag name. It also adjusts for variations in the gas composition of natural gas and biogas. The software enables downloading the data for saving or displaying in text or enhanced data graphics. The software is also available to download in our Knowledge Base.
Applications and Case Study
Recently the Cape May County Municipal Utility Authority (CMCMUA) assessed the second-generation Prism at one of their solid waste facilities. To read the published case study, visit Flow Control Magazine.
