ABOUT THE JOB

Summary

Sage Metering is expanding and so is our engineering team. We have an immediate need for an experienced, forward-thinking engineer to help us grow our engineering team. We are seeking an ideal candidate for a unique engineering position that offers unlimited opportunities for growth and advancement. The applicant will have a Bachelor of Science degree in BSME or BSEE, six plus years of hands-on experience in gas meter manufacturing, testing and documentation, billing and materials, new product releases, and capable of leading an engineering group, programmers and designers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with the Production department to produce high-quality products and maintain the production facilities.
  • Work with the Documentation & Control department to provide timely and accurate updates of drawings, BOMs, and designs.
  • Review and modify designs to reduce costs and improve product quality.
  • Lead the engineering group, programmers, and designers in producing innovative concepts in gas flow meters.
  • Run rigorous product testing and document.
  • Incorporate advanced technology, modeling techniques, concept, design requirements.
  • Maintain ISO quality control standards.
  • Assure regulatory requirements are met, such as CE, ATEX, IECEx and UL/CSA.
  • Remain current in the latest mechanical and/or electrical techniques and practices.
  • Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations.
  • Responsible for accurate bill of materials (BOMs).
  • Work as an individual and as part of an internal cross-functional team.
  • Interface with key customers on an as-needed basis.

You Must Have

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in BSEE or BSME from an ABET-accredited Engineering program
  • Six or more years of relevant experience in a BSEE or BSME role
  • Experience with manufacturing systems
  • Experience in engineering design, thermodynamics, flow, and manufacturing
  • Familiarity with new product releases
  • Familiarity with machine designs and drawings
  • Ability to use SolidWorks preferred, familiarity with CAD or other engineering programs
  • Experience in Project Management and leading an engineering and design team preferred
